- The royal seat of Averoigne. Its Archprelate is Louis d’Allissy, key advisor to the late King Etienne de la Courcel.
- Spring/Summer 1731: owl knights bring Constanza Bethlen here out of Morrschatten.
- Summer 1731: Matthias Melnich’s priest and Phoenix Knights arrive to accuse her of witchcraft; Madeline Foussard takes the case and imprisons her here under conditions designed to prevent sorcery.
- Summer 1731: Etienne dies in the royal castle, naming Marie-Celeste de la Courcel heir and Marc Abayante Regent. Two weeks later assassins storm the castle — see The Night in the Royal Castle. Constanza escapes the city prison the same night.
- Late Summer 1731: Michel d’Envers takes Vyones unopposed and is crowned here by d’Allissy.
Why It Matters
Every western thread the party is pulling — Constanza, Madeline, the Owl, the swordsman at Kraus’s Folly who is “likely Averoigne” — passes through this city in the summer of 1731.
