The current archprelate of Ximes — and, per Felice D’Oiseaux’s Church Rituals from a Secular Perspective, a prelate who personally used divination during the Fifth Crusade (1715) — though only simple pro/con divinations, at least according to the book (GM). Haroun went looking for people in that book who might still be alive; Fouquier is the one he found. (S7)
(Canonical spelling Salemon Fouquier, archprelate of Ximes per the GM, 2026-08-16; the session notes’ “Salam Fuquier, arch-prelate of Zim” is kept as an alias.)
What We Know (all S7, per the book)
- Current archprelate of Ximes — a place the party’s wiki has no other record of; location unstated.
- Was a prelate during the Fifth Crusade and utilized divination then — only the sedate pro/con kind, at least according to the book (GM). Whether he ever practiced anything higher, the book does not say.
Western Church confirmed per table talk (Aaron, 2026-08-16). Where Ximes is remains unknown — the name’s shape sits alongside Vyones and Touraine, Averoign-sounding, but that is pattern-matching, not a source.
Why He Matters
He is a living, named practitioner-witness of Church divination ritual — even if, per the book, only at its ordinary pro/con level. The art the party actually cares about — Blessed Benedict’s question-asking, the Order of the Phoenix’s wartime divination, whatever Estelle does — sits above what he is recorded doing. See The Faith of the Maker.
Speculation
Even a pro/con ritualist is inside the tradition: an archprelate who worked crusade divination twenty-four years ago would still know who practiced the higher art, and whether the Phoenix used it in the Fourth — and asking him is precisely the kind of move that tells the Western Church the party is interested. A source to know about long before he is a source to approach.
