A free city — location not yet established — where a snake demon possessing a noblewoman revealed itself at a party in Summer 1735 and killed a number of nobles before the Order of the Gull and visiting Owl Knights put it down.
What We Know (all GM)
- A free city (like Halwa, outside any kingdom’s writ). The GM timeline does not say where it is; the name is Morschatti in flavour, and the Gull answering the call suggests it lies within Cardacci’s reach.
- Summer 1735: a “snake demon” is found to be possessing a noblewoman there.
- Upon being revealed at a party, the demon kills a number of nobles before being slain by members of the Order of the Gull and visiting Owl Knights.
Why It Matters
This is very likely the incident Hazadi gossip records as “a terrible demon attacking a Cardacci noble court” during The Troubles — see Cardacci. Unconfirmed: Stoccarda is a free city, not a Cardacci one, so the two reports may be separate events.
It is also the Owl’s second recorded demon kill in three years, eight months before the Order of the Phoenix declared them fallen to the Deceiver. The Gull fought the same demon and was not touched.
