Speculation
The attack happened at his party, at a venue he presumably picked, with poison already in all the drinks. Either he was used to stage the ambush, or he was complicit. Ismad’s read answers the “used or complicit” question — used — and replaces it with a better one: whose useful idiot? Somebody steered him to that venue on that night, and Uncle’s Men appear to believe they know the type of person who did it, if not the name. Ask Ismad directly. See The Attacks on Baahir.
